“Annie asked me to design the cover for her book and didn’t want a conventional book jacket. She liked the simplicity of the all-type cloth cover with no image on it although we both knew it wasn’t strong enough on its own. It needed some other element. I came up with a design that integrated the cloth cover title with a removable paper belly band that wrapped around the bottom of the book.
